A loyalty programme for restaurants

A restaurant loyalty programme rewards diners who come back, usually with points for every euro spent that can be exchanged for a dessert, a discount or a meal. With Socios you can combine it with monthly giveaways so customers always have a reason to book again.

Points or stamps in a restaurant

  • À la carte restaurant: points card. For example, 1 point per euro and 100 points = €5 off or a dessert for the table.
  • Set lunch menu: stamp card. For example, 10 set lunches = 1 free.
  • Takeaway or your own delivery service: points, so larger orders are rewarded too.

The right reward

The best rewards have high perceived value and low cost: a homemade dessert, a bottle of house wine, a starter to share or a discount on the next visit (which also guarantees they come back).

A worked example (illustrative)

A restaurant with 200 regulars who come once a month and spend €25 on average. Programme: 1 point per euro, 100 points = €5.

Item Per month
If 20% of those customers come one extra time a month (+40 visits × €25) +€1,000 in sales
Rewards redeemed (≈5% return on what programme members spend) ≈ −€300 at menu price (far less in real cost)
Socios Plus −€5.99

Frequently asked questions

Which is better for a restaurant, points or stamps?

Points. A restaurant bill varies a lot (one person or a table of six), so rewarding each euro spent is fairer and more profitable than rewarding each visit.

How many points should I give per euro?

A simple rule is 1 point per euro and a reward worth about €5 for every 100 points, which means a 5% return to the customer.

Does it work for restaurants with a set lunch menu?

Yes. In that case a stamp card may work better: «10 set lunches = 1 free», because the price is fixed and customers come in often.

How is it validated at the table?

The waiter scans the customer’s QR code with their phone when taking payment and enters the amount. The points are added instantly.
